The rescue hook is an effective tool for sweeping large water areas in search for the missing person, also if he/she is submerged. It can be used to search under the ice in winter as well. The triple hook makes it simple to get hold of the distressed person. The rescue hook is 5 meters long to be able to work in both deep and shallow waters. The hook has floating properties and can be used as a flotation aid. In deep water preferably use the rescue hook together with the rescue raft to search large water areas without the need of diving.
The red rescue hook is solely to be used for lifesaving. For work situations in harbours and onboard ships, the blue boat hook should be used.

“Where there is a need for life saving equipment, there should be lifebuoys available. (…) At high quays, where it is difficult to reach a distressed from land or where there is deep water directly at land or dock, there should also be rescue hooks and rescue ladders available.”

Triple hook

It is recommended to use the rescue hook together with the rescue raft in deep waters to keep the rescuer safe.

Finding the hook is an easy task thanks to its bright red colour, the SOS-yellow reflectors and its red and yellow signal flag.
