Our chain ladder is especially developed with regards to durability and simple installation. It is placed where it is difficult for a person to get out of the water. The ergonomic handle makes it easier to climb over the edge of the quay or bridge when one reaches the top of the ladder.
Spacers ensure extra space between the ladder and the quay wall for easy access. The highly reflective
reflectors indicate the way out of the water. The counterweights keep the ladder straight and steady when climbing on it. The sign (“Rescue Ladder”) with reflectors makes it easy to find the ladder.

Shore Safetys lifesaving equipment meet the requirements of the Swedish Civil Protection and Emergency Agency (MSB).
“Where there is a need for life saving equipment, there should be lifebuoys available. Fixed ladders or stairs should be available if it is difficult to come out of the water in another way.”
(SRVFS 2007:5)
”Ladders should be placed at a maximal distance of 50 meters from each other.”
SRVFS 2007:5
”Rescue posts and ladders should be marked with reflectors or deviant colour to enhance visibility.”

Position the ladder so it is visible from as many angles as possible. The ladders are to be placed 25-50 meters apart from each other. Attach the included reflectors to increase the ladder’s visibility in darkness. The ladder should reach a minimum of 1meter below the surface at low tide, to ensure its accessibility at all times.
Our ergonomic handle makes it easier and more convenient to climb over quay edges. The handle’s sleek design reduces the risk of tripping on the handle when it’s placed near a side walk. The handle is made of moulded aluminium and designed to hold up in all climates and to fit into the urban environment on both stone- and wooden quays.
Note that a flexible chain ladder is more resistant to ice than a fixed ladder.
The chain ladder is made of hot dip galvanized or stainless steel.
Reflectors indicate the way out of the water. The sign and the handle also come with reflectors.
